It has long been a dream of mine to volunteer abroad. But in going, I want to get off the tourist path and really connect with the people there. After much research, I found an international volunteer organization named Cross-Cultural Solutions that will help me achieve my dream. They have a wonderful program in a remote village in Trang, Thailand. I will be caring for children in day care centers, caring for and developing activities for the elderly, and caring for people living with mental or physical disabilities. I will also be teaching English, which is very important to Trang residents of all ages.

Detailed Event / Project Description
I have decided to volunteer abroad with Cross-Cultural Solutions and get hands-on experience working side-by-side with local, impoverished people in a remote village in Trang, Thailand. The world is facing challenging times and I want to do my part to help make a difference and learn more about global issues. I will be caring for children in day care centers, caring for and developing activities for the elderly, and caring for people living with mental or physical disabilities. I will also be teaching English, which is very important to Trang residents of all ages, because the ability to communicate in English is helpful to get better jobs. Learning English from a native speaker is an invaluable opportunity!
