Detailed Event / Project Description
For the Love of Cooking presented by Prestige Concepts, LLC and SYNERGY will be a 5 day event competition and fundraiser series in Philadelphia held at a to-be-determined location in the month of September 2010, starting the week of September 6th, 2010. These individual competitions will be held once a week for 5 weeks. Ten contestants will prepare sample meals during a qualifying competition. Celebrity judges will be prominent figures in the entertainment, restaurant, food, and social sectors. There will be performances from local artists, as well as big name artists. Promotions using Facebook,other social media outlets, Eventbrite.com, Cision, as well as other unique campaigns will be utilizedProceeds from ticket sales will go to a local food charity, as well as a percentage monies provided by partners and sponsors will be donated to the same charity which can be a tax deductible gift.
For the Love of Cooking will feature aspiring chefs competing for grand prizes of cash or kitchen products from a leading kitchenware company, a 3-month apprenticeship in a famous Philadelphia Restaurant, and a scholarship to study culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu (http://www.cordonbleu.edu) or Gastronomicom (http://www.gastronomicom.fr) Participants will come from local culinary art schools, culinary organizations, and small community cooking groups.
For the promotion of this event many avenues will be taken. A PR campaign using Cision technology will be utilized, customized event tickets with logo of partners and sponsors will be composed, and an event website will constructed where participating companies and sponsors will be highlighted, the website will also be a vehicle to keep individuals updated on the progression of the event; contestants will be shown using sponsored products and goods only. A new and exciting promotional medium that has rarely been seen any other place and is gaining popularity in Philadelphia is the media interactive van. We will have a few of the interactive vans positioned around the location of the event to act as a crowd pleaser, attention grabber, as well as a marketing tool for selected companies.
A small commercial will be filmed to promote the event in the Philadelphia Tri-State Area, as well as local news and media will cover the event.
